Ringing in the new year with an updated look on my kawi! Swapped my 2004 fairings out for some 2013+ aftermarket fairings from @nicecyclegear . Just a couple more bolts and my cage left to go but she’s finally together!! Thank you so much @nicecyclegear for the beautiful new fairings! Everything bolted up perfectly and the quality is . Thank you @nicolemlv for wrapping my tank and the biggest thank you to @cbearstunts for slaving away at this project over the last few days. It’s been a painstaking process and she still needs a couple tweaks but I couldn’t wait to share her with you all. ☺️ . More about the build: I bought an aftermarket fairing stay from @dicks_customs which is designed specifically for this ‘04 to ‘13 conversion. It mounts the headlights (which I bought used) and the upper fairing to the bike. . The ‘13 tail fairing won’t fit on the ‘04 subframe without major modification so I asked for an ‘04 tail to be substituted in the fairing kit. . My tank ended up being wrapped to match the fairings but I will have it painted soon. . Modifications: the windscreen, two headlight tabs and the left fairing by the stator needed to be cut to allow proper fitment and for my handlebars to turn fully. We also still need to cut holes for the cage to be mounted back on. . My @nice_cycle fairings kit came with all the pieces and a bolt kit to get the job done. For being an aftermarket company, I am very impressed with the quality and how well everything fit! The paint looks great and all the pieces came carefully wrapped and packaged. . Other updates: Prior to the fairing conversion we have already updated my swingarm, wheels, forks, calipers and frame . Basically the only 2004 part of this bike is the motor. . I’m so excited to try out this new look. I know a lot of you love the blue (as do I!) and it’s what I’m known for, but let’s dedicate this year to embracing change and breaking out of our molds to create better versions of ourselves!
