My kids used to love coming here to eat shave ice and get their faces painted and ever since the fissures it’s been a long road to recovery for a lot of us here, slowly but surely the vendors are returning but it definitely isn’t the same as before. I recently read that they plan to reopen the Puna geo thermal plant and although I can’t say for sure that it had something to do with the fissures and breakouts I do know the earthquakes aren’t as frequent and heavy and the birds seem to be more abundant lately. I’m scratching my head on how the community is allowing this foreign invest group to drill and rape our ‘Āina which could also lead to more outbreaks and families homes being destroyed so if anybody plans to try and stop them from reopening please dm me because I would love to help out somehow.
