If you’ve seen my stories you are already aware, but I figured I would make an actual post since I’ve been getting so many messages and questions.

This Monday, I crashed my dirtbike and fractured my right clavicle. Aside from that, I’m doing alright physically and my bike is okay too. ☺️ I crashed trying to get more air off of the ledge of a hill climb I had done a few times. (Second slide is @corey0636 hitting the climb I crashed on) I let off the throttle too soon and ended up getting good air, doing a nose dive and going over the handlebars, landing on my shoulder. I knew right away I broke it. I’ve broken a collarbone before and recognized the feeling but this time it was displaced and extremely painful. Probably my most painful bike-related injury to date.

I have surgery scheduled this coming Wednesday to have the bone set and plated. Now, I’m just playing the waiting game until then. I’m so bored not being able to ride or be active, and not being able to do things on my own is so mentally difficult for me. Anyone who knows me knows I hate asking for help, so it’s been a pretty humbling experience so far. It’s difficult sleeping, showering, getting dressed, eating left handed, and I can’t drive my truck anywhere cause it’s a 6 speed. But I’m beyond lucky to have amazing help and support during this. 🤍
.
Fun fact: The man I bought this bike off of rode it for 11 hours and fractured his hip. I rode it for 9 hours and fractured my clavicle. This bike is out for blood but don’t worry, I’ll be back on it as soon as humanly possible.

I’ve heard stories from people who were riding or racing days after surgery for a broken clavicle so I’m planning on trying to be one of those people. I’ll definitely be taking it easy and listening to my body but there’s no way I can wait weeks to be back on a bike. If any of you have any similar experiences, please share! And feel free to ask any questions here. I’ll try to get to them all. Thank you all for the well wishes. I feel blessed having so much love and support from so many of you. 🤍🤍🤍
