DOCUMENTATION. I was lucky enough to get asked to share my thoughts about what’s happening here in Hawaii for the upcoming Israel Kamakawiwo’ole Documentary and the universe truly works towards your thoughts if you know how to manifest them properly , I remember reading Stuart Coleman’s “Fierce Makaha” book when I was locked up and how everything was so relatable and made sense and also that I needed to be part of the change somehow, especially the part about how the Hōkūle’a (Polynesian voyaging society) brought out this new cultural pride and renaissance much in the way Mauna Kea is doing for our people now so in a strange way this negative project is exposing everything that needs to change in Hawaii and to me that’s a positive outcome of what’s happening here.
