Can't believe @i_i_mmaacademy has been open for 2 years. To see the program grow and my students evolve in all aspects of life has been worth all the blood sweat and tears I've put into this place. Just heard some shitty news the state has canceled yet another season of youth sports, and schools still have not returned to in person, my sons schools version of "in person" is to bring him back 2 DAYS in person every 4 weeks, his wrestling season now canceled, football was non existent. I can't imagine yet another group of seniors that rely on sports to get an education are now left with nothing. The kids that rely on academic school are failing online classes so can kiss those goodbye as well. We are failing our kids. @mayorvictorino knows very well the importance sports plays with our children as his son was one of the few to make it professionally because of our youth sports programs, I hope he will stand behind these kids. I'm happy to have kept my gym open running yes I've invested alot more money and time to do it but WE ARE PROOF, this can be done . Had a no audience kids tournament for my kids yesterday to help boost their mental health. To see their faces and spirits lifted after 2020 just reminds me that everything I'm doing is worth it. Hopefully the ones in charge wake up and see these mandates are gonna be damaging in the years to come, when we have a bunch of broken young adults who lost out because no one stood up for our future. 2021 we need more people stop being hyporctites, shouting about " wear a mask to save the compromised " yet ignoring the declining health of our children. There is no future without them.
